Happy Spring!
Spring Cleaning tips, Mariners schedule and fun upcoming April events!
I love to spring clean. It feels good and is very rewarding. Clearing out unwanted items and a few tips to get your home ready for the warmer weather helps shake off the winter.
Tracy’s Tips:
-
Oh that Kitchen, yes that kitchen. Clean out those cabinets and pantries already 😉 get rid of expired food and old spices. Your life will be better. I promise.
-
Replace the furnace filter. It may be especially filthy after the winter months.
-
Inspect the roof for water damage. It’s also a good idea to check any fences, carports and sheds. Tip: Check the south end of your roof first; it is the first to show wear.
-
Test the batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Super important!
-
Clear the gutters of any buildup to allow for proper functioning.
-
Start the grass revival cycle by aerating, thatching and fertilizing, this is one for those who really, really love green grass. It is a lot of work but worth it. Especially for those bare feet when it warms up.
-
Clean the windows and screens. My favorite cleaner for windows is white wine vinegar and water solution organic awesomeness.
-
Repair any holes in the screens or replace them as needed.
-
Inspect and repair siding and peeling paint. Strip peeling paint and replace it with a new coat.
-
Check the basement for water damage. Pay attention to musty smells, water stain and damp surfaces.
Happy cleaning!
